Early Learning Preschool Programs

Our mission is to work within our communities to provide comprehensive, top-quality services to participating children and families.

Programs + Curriculum

MCCAA'S Early Learning Preschool Program houses five State funded Preschool sites within Merced County.
Each of our preschool sites offers a play-based program with developmentally appropriate educational activities for young children.

This program includes activities in:

Music + Movement
Art
Language Development
Computer Activities
Physical Development
Science
Math
Social Skills
All sites currently follow the Frog Street Curriculum, focused on enhancing children’s language, cognitive, physical, social emotional, and perceptual and motor development.
Children are assessed twice per year using the Desired Results Developmental Profiles. Parent conferences are held after each assessment to encourage parental involvement in the process.

Eligibility

Am I eligible for these services?

Participating families must meet income eligibility guidelines as outlined by the State Department of Education.
Priority for enrollment is based on the following criteria:
  • Family is homeless
  • Family is a cash aid recipient
  • Family meets program income eligibility requirements
  • Family has a child who is at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or receiving child protective service through the county welfare department

Preschool Sites

Our sites offer full and part-day, year-round preschool programs for qualifying children ages 3 to 5 who are not yet eligible for Kindergarten.
All five sites offer services in English and Spanish. Children are provided well-balanced and nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, and our staff members work with parents to provide quality services to enhance children’s development.
